Paving

Example Projects

My paving slab of choice has to be reclaimed York flagstones. This is stone you might find inside a church and is often referred to as “Cathedral quality”. It has a certain class to it as a product and will stand the test of time. A cost-effective substitute is Indian sandstone that comes in a variety of colours.

The actual preparation for paving and the laying of stones is absolutely critical. Expect nothing less than 4” of compacted aggregate, 2” of a FULL bed of sharp sand and cement as well as a soft sand mortared joint. The paving must always be laid on a gradient to discourage puddling of water.

Attention to detail should not be underestimated.
